This blog post is composed mainly of highlights and extracts from The Barnes Review's September 2008 special-edition Russia & The Jews - available here - which reviewed A I Solzhenitsyn's 200 Years Together (2002) for the first time-ever in the English-language.
One of the most important books on the Russian Revolution & the Bolsheviks: The Jews in the Soviet Union. Together with Russian Jewish History: 1795-1916, they comprise Solzhenitsyn’s massive—& suppressed—200 Years Together.

The Cheka Secret Police
Cheka’s [secret police] was to settle accounts outside the court. It represented a unique kind of repressive organ. A single authority entrusted with spying on citizens, arresting them, conducting investigations, directing prosecution, furnishing judges and carrying out sentences.
The Red Terror (1917-1953)
Solzhenitsyn remembers, “The law encouraged every Jew who had been insulted as a Jew to request prosecution.”42 [Today, this attitude is called “political correctness.”—Ed.]
The Red Terror was truly terrifying. People of "the left" today brazenly wear the Hammer & Sickle like a trendy fashion item today, completely unaware or ignorant of its bloody history. The indented paragraphs are lifted directly from Solzhenitsyn:
Solzhenitsyn asks:
“How is it to be explained that the population of Russia, taken altogether, regarded all this as ‘the Jewish terror’” “But the free press of the free world maintained its perfect silence!"
The prevailing mentality (of the mob) was described by “historian” Wassili Grossman, whose bias is apparent when he writes:
Key Soviets
Lenin’s grandparents were of Jewish descent. Lenin’s grandfather, Alexander [before the baptism = Srul Moishevich] Blank, was the son of Jewish parents.” Stalin forbade Lenin’s sister from revealing this information.
Lev Davidovich Bronstein - Trotsky
Lev Davidovich Bronstein - as with Jews throoughout history - changed his name to Leon Trotsky for which he is now best-remembered. He nearly always surrounded himself with fellow Jews as his closest co-workers and in August 1918 established the first Bolshevik concentration camps. He had no qualms with women and children being locked up shot if deemed necessary. Despite this, he remains a hero to many modern leftists, Marxists, Socialists and Communists.
Ephraim Sklyansky
Ephraim Sklyansky created the Red Army together with Trotsky and Sverdlov, and participated with General Tukhachevsky and the regional Cheka head Lev Levin in ruthlessly crushing the farmer uprisings.

Béla Kun, born Aaron Cohn, was responsible for a huge massacre of 60-70,000 in Crimea.

Genrikh Yagoda
Israeli publication, Ynet News: “We mustn’t forget that some of the greatest mass murderers of modern time were Jewish." "Genrikh Yagoda," the greatest Jewish murderer of the 20th Century, the GPU's deputy commander and the founder and commander of the NKVD is responsible for the deaths of at least 10 million. His Jewish deputies established and managed the Gulag system.

Solzhenitsyn says: “It is said of David Ben Gurion, that he once told the world: ‘What is important is what the Jews do, and not what the goyim have to say about it.’” With this attitude, & supported by terrorist orgs, Ben Gurion justified proclamation of the state of Israel 1948
Mikhail Ivanovich Kalinin
Kalinin one of the co-signatories of the order to shoot the 15000 captured Polish officers in April-May 1940. 3 cities (Tver, Korolyov & Königsberg) were named or renamed in his honour. The last, Kaliningrad, retained the name after the fall of the USSR.

The Katyn Forest Massacres
The West and USSR deliberately blamed the Germans for this. The winners write the popular 'official history'.

The Great Purge
Mass shootings of ‘people’s enemies’ that began in the early 1930s & culminated in the hysteria of the ‘Great Purge’ of 1937-1939, robbed yet another 5 to 7 million human beings of their life & another million people died as a result of annexation of East Poland & Baltics 1939-41
A sum total of 40 million Bolshevik terror victims 1917-1941 is now generally considered realistic.
Mass-migration into cities and some Communists more equal than others with special privileges. Everyone was just trying to survive.
More Mass Murders
As the number of incidents and deaths racks up the numbers murdered for ideology is difficult-to-fathom, almost goes over my head, such is "The Banality of Evil" an expression attributed to the much-celebrated jewish writer Hannah Arendt in Eichmann in Jerusalem.
Death by Poisoning and Medical Experiments
Solzhenitsyn refers to the poison-injecting professor Gregory Mayranovsky on those “condemned to death for experimental purposes. (Probably an insipiration for the UK's later alleged Novichok poisonings!)

Winston Churchill
Solzhenitsyn also refers to an article by the then war minister of the British Cabinet, Winston Churchill of February 1920 in The London Illustrated Sunday Herald. The Cheka personnal in Ukraine, with Ukrainians being 80% of the population was 75% of Jewish origin.
The Soviets tried to create an internal Jewish homeland.
"As compensation the committee for the land settlement of Jewish labor devised a project to resettle Jews in general to Birobijan, an area as large as Switzerland on the Chinese border."
Stalin's 1930s Crackdown on The Jewry
Stalin's late 1930s Jewry crack-down involved elimination of religion and diminishing of languages Hebrew and Yiddish (of ethnic Khazars) but he still needed them to run the Soviet bureaucracy.
Stalin purged "once prominent Jewish Chekists, GPU and NKVD personnel, officers of the
Red Army, party officials and diplomats". "There was no reaction in Russia or abroad to this wave
of elimination of Jews." (Not implausible given the previous phase of "The Red Terror" above.)
Solzhenitsyn found the summarizing confession of The Jewish Encyclopedia impressive:
“It was precisely at the end of the 1930s that the Jews reached the high point of their importance in the different areas of life in Soviet society within the whole era that Soviet power existed.
Stalin kept “liberating” the Jewish Anti-Fascist Committee (JAFC) from its leading figures by shooting them.
At War With Germany
Solzhenitsyn did not investigate it as a researcher, but instead copied everything, unverified, from Jewish sources. For this whole chapter with its 179 footnotes—he did not consult one single neutral or German historical source.
Solzhenitsyn and Putin
Aleksandr Solzhenitsyn, a devout Christian, appears to have been a firm supporter of Russian President Vladimir Putin. On June 5, 2007, Putin signed a decree conferring the State Prize of the Russian Federation for the humanitarian work of Solzhenitsyn.
